Our Purpose

Technology is modernizing the world and we’d like to bring South Africa on that journey with us.  We are young determined South Africans concerned about the future of our country. With our struggling economy, dwindling education statistics and soaring unemployment rates, something needs to be done about it. In the Tech Hub we aim to create an environment where we have identified 10 sectors that face various challenges that impact the economic and social aspect of South Africa. The 10 sectors we have identified are as follows:  Water, Unemployment, Social Housing, Agriculture, Energy, Education, Security, Transportation, Healthcare and Rural Development

Current Projects

1. Unemployment

  • Unemployment rate increased to 27,6.
  • Lack of skills and experience.
  • Lack of entrepreneurship.
  • Lack of job opportunities and slow economic growth.

2. Education

  • The quality of school education for most black people is sub-standard.
  • Lack of school Governance (Poor management and leadership in schools).
  • Over-crowded classrooms. Dependence of old information.
  • Lack of Literacy and Numeracy skills and access to technology.

3. HOUSING

  • Informal housing developments have increased.
  • Access to critical infrastructure.
  • Violent protests for insufficient housing.
  • Delayed delivery of rural development plan.

4. WATER

  • Inequitable access to clean water
  • Water demand and supply
  • Deteriorating infrastructure
  • Climate Change

5. ENERGY

  • Outdated municipal revenue model.
  • Old infrastructure.
  • Increase in electricity price.
  • Accessible, affordable and efficient energy.

6. AGRICULTURE

  • Poor agricultural practices.
  • Climate change, water availability, drought.
  •  Lack of technological development.
  • Disease and Pesticides.

7. TRANSPORTATION

  • Poor road Maintenance.
  • Traffic congestion and parking difficulties.
  • Inadequate public transport  infrastructure.
  • Increasing fuel prices impacting on basic services

8. HEALTH

  • Lack of medical resources.
  • High influx of patients and inefficient administration.
  • Lack of medicinal and technological advancement.
  • Lack of  urgent  response from medical emergancy services.

9. SAFETY & SECURITY

  • Outdated security systems.
